ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE  PROGRAM

Program Description

Undergraduate:
The B.S. in Biology and Marine Biology has a concentration in environmental sciences. In addition to content of the major, technical electives dealing with the environmental subjects such as hazardous waste management and environmental planning and construction, the curriculum places heavy emphasis on the basic sciences. A certain degree of flexibility is allowed to tailor the program to individual career goals. This degree is designed for students interested in careers in applied environmental work.

Graduate:
The systems science major is an interdisciplinary, flexible approach to specialized graduate study, which provides practicing engineers and scientists with an advanced knowledge of contemporary topics of interest. An advisory committee comprised of experts in the environmental sciences from both industry and government has assisted the faculty at FDU in formulating a curriculum for today’s professional in water resources, environmental regulations, pollution control and hazardous waste management.

Admission Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university, with a baccalaureate degree in science, engineering or engineering technology. Submission of an official soccer report for the Graduation Record Examination (GRE) General Test taken within the last five years. ( The GRE requirement is waived for applicants who have completed a master’s degree.) Three letters of recommendation. Applicants who have not completed all requirements for admission to the degree program may be permitted to enroll in classes for credit on a non-matriculated or non-degree basis.
